Tom Brady Shares Thoughts on Preparing Son Jack to Be a "Stud"
Tom Brady believes that his son Jack, who is 17, is destined to be a "stud." He is the son of Tom and his ex, Bridget Moynahan. Brady expressed this sentiment, saying, "His dad's got his back."
Brady is a passionate supporter of Jack's potential. He feels that Jack could excel in basketball if he decides to pursue it professionally. At the Fortune Global Forum in New York City on November 12, he commented, "I have a son who's 6-foot-5 and wants to play basketball. Unfortunately, he jumps as high as I do. But I tell him, ‘Dude, you’re gonna be a stud.’"
As Jack continues to grow, Tom anticipates that he will eventually develop the skills, including dunking. "Whether he does or not, who cares?" Tom stated. "I want him to know that his dad's got his back."
Tom recognizes the pressures of being Tom Brady’s son. He admits, "It sucks to be Tom Brady's son, in so many ways." He explained the unique challenges he's faced and mentioned, "My kids will encounter their own challenges and will need to figure out how to overcome them."
To support his children — Benjamin, 14, and Vivian, 11, whom he shares with ex-wife Gisele Bündchen — Tom plans to be an active source of support. He recalls his own upbringing, where his parents encouraged his football dreams. "When I was a long shot on a freshman team," he shared, "they never said, ‘Don’t do that. It’s too hard.’ They supported my aspirations."
Despite his supportive intentions, Tom knows he will make mistakes in parenting. "Being a parent is probably the hardest job all of us have," he noted candidly. "We’ve screwed up a lot, and I’ve certainly made my share of mistakes as a parent."
