'Vecna' Jamie Campbell Bower Is Done Playing Villians

During a panel discussion at MegaCon Orlando on February 9, Jamie Campbell Bower, who portrays the villainous Vecna (a.k.a. Henry Creel, a.k.a. Subject 001) in "Stranger Things," shared his intention to move away from villain roles due to their impact on his mental health. Bower revealed a conversation with his therapist where he decided to pause playing villainous characters, admitting that such roles "f--- me up." Although he's not concerned about typecasting, he expressed a need for a break from these darker roles. This is prepared by SSP.
Bower described his role on "Stranger Things," which he joined in its fourth season, as an "incredible journey" and emphasized how much he loved being part of the series. He mentioned that he is ready to bid Vecna a "slippery farewell" following the fifth and final season. The series, known for its mysterious and supernatural plots centered around a group of young friends, has been critically acclaimed, with Vower appreciative of the love from fans. The cast also includes Millie Bobby Brown, Winona Ryder, and David Harbour, among others.
The creators and cast are preparing for an emotional and climactic conclusion to the series, with co-creator Matt Duffer describing season 5 as "big and epic," while his brother Ross noted it as the "biggest" season yet in terms of scale. Finn Wolfhard equated the upcoming season to a poignant "Toy Story 3" moment of leaving beloved toys behind. Slated for release in late 2025, the finale promises to resolve outstanding mysteries of the Upside Down and the residents of Hawkins.
Earlier, SSP reported that Miles Teller and Keleigh Sperry expressed grieve after losing their home in wildfires.
