What Taylor Swift Texted Brittany Mahomes Before Chiefs Game
Taylor Swift revealed her pre-game texts to Brittany Mahomes ahead of the AFC Championship game on January 26. During this pivotal match, her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, played for the Kansas City Chiefs against the Buffalo Bills.
When nerves struck, Taylor sought comfort from her friend. After the Chiefs’ victory over the Bills, the "Cruel Summer" singer shared how she reached out to Brittany for reassurance. She recounted telling Travis' mom, Donna Kelce, "I just did not know what to do. I texted Brittany and asked, 'Tell me it's going to be OK.'"
Despite her efforts, Taylor struggled to calm down initially. She expressed thanks to Brittany, who is married to Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, for supporting her during this intense emotional time. "Oh my god, you kept me so calm the last couple weeks," she told Brittany.
Ultimately, Taylor received the outcome she hoped for with the Chiefs advancing to the 2025 Super Bowl. In this upcoming game, they will face the Philadelphia Eagles in New Orleans on February 9. However, the journey included some nerve-wracking moments. During a clip, Taylor acknowledged how stressful it felt, saying, "My heart was in my throat," and joked, "I need to get medavacked out of here. This is crazy."
Following the Chiefs' victory, Taylor shared a sweet moment on the field with Brittany. She also reunited with Travis, which was heartwarming, sealing their win with a kiss. For Travis, Taylor's encouragement has significantly impacted his performance.
"She's fully encouraging me to enjoy playing this game," Travis said during an appearance on the Stephen A. Smith show on January 15.
"She loves coming to Arrowhead, cheering for me, and I have all the support to keep chasing these dreams."
