YouTube is experimenting with a new feature to assist creators in generating video ideas

YouTube is currently running a test to gauge the effectiveness of a new feature that integrates Google Gemini into their platform to assist creators in brainstorming video ideas, titles, and thumbnails, reports TechCrunch. Termed as "Brainstorm with Gemini," this tool aims to provide creators with unique capabilities not available on competitor platforms and further solidifies YouTube's reliance on artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance content creation.

According to a YouTube spokesperson, the feature is being tested among select creators as part of a limited experiment. Feedback from these creators will play a crucial role in determining whether the Brainstorm with Gemini feature will be introduced on a broader scale. By leveraging Google's AI technology, YouTube aims to provide its creators with innovative tools to spur their creative inspiration, potentially rivaling the offerings of platforms like OpenAI's ChatGPT.

This latest feature is akin to a previously tested AI-based tool launched by YouTube in May, which utilized AI algorithms to suggest video topic ideas aligned with the interests of creators' audiences and generate an outline of talking points to kickstart their creative process. In the current test, creators are presented with two options within YouTube Studio when planting their video idea in the search bar: the pre-existing inspiration tool and the newly integrated Brainstorm with Gemini. YouTube aims to assess whether creators find value in both the inspiration tool and the new Gemini integration for refining their content ideas.

While platforms like TikTok and Instagram are prioritizing the utilization of generative AI for creating digital avatars and personalized experiences, YouTube seeks to direct the power of AI towards content creation assistance. By providing comprehensive AI-driven tools and features, YouTube aims to strengthen its commitment to supporting creators and facilitating the creation of compelling and engaging video content.
