Adam Sandler Crashes the 2025 Oscars in a Hoodie and Basketball Shorts

Adam Sandler made a surprise appearance at the 97th Academy Awards on March 2, 2025. The event took place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California. True to his style, Sandler arrived dressed in a hoodie and basketball shorts.

During host Conan O'Brien’s opening speech, following impressive performances by Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, O'Brien acknowledged Sandler. The camera focused on Sandler, who looked comfortable and casual in his attire.

"You're dressed well, Adam," O'Brien remarked. Sandler responded with enthusiasm, "Conan, what's up? My brother, what's going on?" The lighthearted exchange continued as O’Brien asked, "Adam, what are you wearing?"

Sandler was in a bright blue oversized Aviator Nation hoodie paired with dark blue Adidas basketball shorts adorned with black details. He cheekily asked, "What are you doing right now?" O'Brien explained his inquiry directly.

Responding with dramatic flair, Sandler declared, "Nobody even thought about what I was wearing until you brought it up." O’Brien humorously retorted that Sandler looked like "a guy playing video poker at 2 a.m."

Unfazed by the comments, Sandler insisted, "I like the way I look because I'm a good person. I don't care about what I wear. Did my snazzy gym shorts and fluffy sweatshirt offend you enough to mock me in front of my peers?"

O'Brien, trying to contain his laughter, offered a sincere apology. "Hey, I'm sorry," he said. Sandler reassured the audience, stating, "It's not you; it's him." He acknowledged O’Brien's role in the playful banter.

Before leaving the stage, Sandler invited the audience to join him for a game of five-on-five basketball at Veteran Park later that night. Additionally, he approached Timothée Chalamet, nominee for Best Actor, and playfully exaggerated his name, kissing Chalamet on the head.

Sandler first joked about Chalamet's name at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards. Host Nikki Glaser teased Chalamet in her monologue, prompting Sandler's playful commentary from the audience. He used the same humorous pronunciation during his latest SNL appearance.
