Angelina Jolie is actively helping during the devastating wildfires in California. A source reported to PEOPLE that the 49-year-old actress has welcomed friends who evacuated the Los Angeles area into her home. "Angie is heartbroken for those who have lost their homes or are impacted by the fires," the source shared.
The ongoing wildfires began in Pacific Palisades on January 7. It is considered one of the most destructive fire events in Los Angeles history. According to officials, the fires have destroyed up to 10,000 structures, including residential homes and offices, primarily from the Palisades and Eaton fires in Pasadena.
These wildfires have displaced over 80,000 individuals, affecting numerous high-profile celebrities, including Leighton Meester, Adam Brody, Anna Faris, Ricki Lake, Cary Elwes, and Cameron Mathison. As of January 10, the County of Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner reported there were 11 fatalities under investigation related to the fires.
In addition to Jolie, various celebrities are stepping in to assist the victims of these wildfires. Halle Berry announced on Instagram that she is collaborating with Sharon Stone to donate her "entire closet" to those who have lost basic necessities.
