Ariana Grande Expresses Joy About Relationship with Ethan Slater
Ariana Grande is happy with her boyfriend, Ethan Slater. The 31-year-old singer and actress spoke positively about the increasing public affection for Slater, aged 32. During the ongoing promotional activities for Wicked, Slater garnered admiration for carrying the train of Grande’s dress at the film’s Australian premiere. He even went viral after promising a fan he would deliver a friendship bracelet to Grande.
"Oh, my God, it’s always [adorable]. He’s always that adorable," Grande shared with Entertainment Tonight at Wicked's Los Angeles premiere on November 9. "He’s so amazing in this film. He’s an incredible person. I’m so happy people are getting to know him. My heart is very happy."
Slater expressed pride in Grande’s performance, saying, "I’m so proud of Ariana. She’s incredible in this movie, and now to share in the celebration of it, I’m just grateful."
The couple met while filming Wicked in London. A source revealed to Us Weekly in July 2023 that they began dating after Grande’s split from Dalton Gomez earlier that year. Subsequently, Slater filed for divorce from his wife, Lilly Jay, after four years of marriage. Grande and Slater finalized their divorces in October 2023 and September 2024, respectively.
Grande reflected on the challenges during the production of Wicked, stating, "Of course, I went through a lot of life changes during filming. A lot of people working on it did. We were away for two years."
Regarding the criticism her relationship with Slater faced, Grande noted, "The most disappointing part was to see so many people believe the worst of it. That was definitely a tough ride."
Grande further emphasized Slater's character, stating, "There couldn’t be a less accurate depiction of a human being. No one tries harder or spreads themselves thinner to support those they care about. There is no one with a better heart."
In his GQ interview published in October, Slater also shared his feelings about finding love with Grande on set.
"Obviously, it was a really super big year. It’s difficult to have your private life scrutinized publicly," Slater mentioned. "There were many significant changes privately, making it tough to see comments from those unaware of the situation, especially about the people you love. That felt really hard."
However, he added, "It was an amazing year and a beautiful experience. I’m just really excited."
