Armie Hammer's Unique Birthday Gift: A Vasectomy from His Mom
Armie Hammer shared a surprising birthday gift in the latest episode of his Armie HammerTime Podcast. On November 11, he revealed that, for his 38th birthday, his mother, Dru Hammer, covered the cost of his vasectomy.
During a lighthearted discussion, Dru asked, "Let’s talk about what I gave you for your birthday this year." This question prompted the pair to recount the unexpected gift. Dru knew Hammer didn’t have any specific wishes, as he told her, "I don’t know. Maybe money. Whatever." With humor, she decided, "I believe I’m going to give you a vasectomy."
Hammer continued the story, narrating his unusual experience at the doctor's office. He said, "I go to a doctor’s office and I go, ‘I’m here to schedule a vasectomy.’" Upon arrival, he filled out paperwork and had a consultation. The doctor questioned his choice, saying, "Are you sure you wanna do this?" Hammer confidently replied, "I have two beautiful kids. I don’t want any more kids. I’m good to go."
Despite attempts from the medical staff to discuss his decision, Hammer insisted, "You’re not going to talk me out of it. I’m done. I’m good." After the consultation, he faced an awkward moment with the receptionist while arranging payment for the procedure.
"The receptionist was like, ‘Are you gonna be putting this on insurance?’" Hammer recounted. He informed her, "Actually, I don’t have insurance," leading to her surprise. When the receptionist inquired about credit card payment, he clarified, "My mother’s going to be calling you and she’s going to be paying for it." The receptionist’s reaction conveyed her disbelief, as Hammer shared, "Yes, my mother gave me this as a birthday present."
Dru expressed her rationale behind giving Hammer a vasectomy. She shared, "As a Catholic, I would prefer that my son didn’t have sex outside of marriage, but I know that isn’t going to happen." She humorously noted that "there are young girls who would love to have Armie Hammer’s baby," to which Hammer quipped, "Maybe when I had money they would!"
Dru remained optimistic about Hammer's future in Hollywood. She noted, "I love that you lived up to your wrongdoings when you were on Piers Morgan." They also touched on the serious allegations that impacted his career, emphasizing that Hammer had denied the claims against him.
On the podcast, Dru shared her belief in her son, stating, "My son was not criminally wrong." She remarked, "If there was a smidgeon of things that were wrong...they would have nailed you." Concerned as a mother, she humorously recalled asking Hammer about any actual harm done to others.
"Are there any women out there with limbs or ribs missing?" Dru questioned, illustrating her protective instinct. In addressing the allegations, she told Hammer, "I think you learned not to put stupid things in DMs." Resigning to this, Hammer admitted, "I was definitely stupid."
