Bill Gates Embraces Grandfather Role, Expresses Desire to Be a Good Grandpa
Bill Gates, who is now 69, is settling into his role as a grandfather. He discussed his new memoir, Source Code: My Beginnings, on Today. During the interview, he shared thoughts on his two granddaughters — Jennifer's children, Mia and Leila. Mia is just three months old, while Leila is nearly 23 months.
Gates expressed a clear stance on parenting, stating, "You never want to push kids to do the same thing that you did." This comment came after host Savannah Guthrie humorously pointed out, "Especially when they're 10 months old." Gates added, "The oldest is turning 2 next week, so I got some nice fluffy dolls." He emphasized his goal of being a good grandfather by reading to them, just as his grandparents did.
In November, his daughter, Jennifer, welcomed her second child, Mia. This joyous event was shared by the couple on Instagram. In a sweet photo, new big sister Leila peeked into the crib where baby Mia slept. Jennifer proudly captioned the picture, noting, "Introducing Mia, who was born on our third wedding anniversary 💕." She called Mia the best gift they could have asked for.
Jennifer, 33, and Nayel Nassar married on October 16, 2021. Earlier in June, Jennifer had revealed her pregnancy news on Instagram. She posted a charming photo while cradling her baby bump, with Leila holding her hand. In the caption, she joyfully declared, "Leila, being promoted to big sister 💕."
