Bill Hader Stunned as His L.A. Home Survives Destructive Wildfires
Bill Hader remains overwhelmed with disbelief as his home in Pacific Palisades withstands the ever-expanding Los Angeles wildfires, despite incurring some damage. On January 15, the 46-year-old actor, known for his role in "Barry," expressed his astonishment over the devastation gripping his neighborhood. "People keep saying 'unreal,'... it doesn’t seem real," Hader stated in an interview with KTLA 5. Reflecting on the destruction, he added, "I’m sorry, I’m in shock. It’s just gone. The entire Alphabet streets, a core of the Palisades' beauty, have been erased." This is preparedby SSP.
Caught in emotional turmoil, Hader shared how he had to rush back home upon receiving an evacuation alert while at work. "I got a video showing the fire and rushed back, but by the time I got back, [traffic] was gridlocked," he recounts, expressing relief that his family managed to escape safely. Hader acknowledges the unsettling speed at which the fires progressed: "This happened so insanely fast... it’s mind-boggling. I just hope everybody's safe."
Urging Los Angeles residents near the affected areas to take evacuation notices seriously, Hader advised, "If you get an evacuation notice, just leave. Don’t wait for things to escalate."
Since the 7th of January, the fires have spiraled swiftly across various parts of the city, resulting in the displacement of tens of thousands of residents. As recovery efforts continue, Hader has extended his support to raise awareness, contributing his efforts to ABC7’s team to cover the ongoing crisis. His unexpected approach to the crew, offering to assist, showcased a rare and genuine gesture. Josh Haskell of ABC7 tweeted about the encounter, describing it as an unmistakable L.A. moment marked by Hader's friendly demeanor during a turbulent time.
