Billy Crystal Might Have Accidentally Donated Iconic Sweater from *When Harry Met Sally"
In a recent exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Billy Crystal shared his uncertainty regarding the whereabouts of Harry Burns' famous white sweater from "When Harry Met Sally."
At 76 years old, Crystal reflected on his collection from the film's wardrobe. He said, "I have a lot. I’m a bit of a clothes horse. However, I don’t have that iconic sweater anymore, and I had it for years."
When asked about its possible location, Crystal shared his thoughts. "I made a donation," he mentioned. "I think it was to UCLA’s theater department, which received tons of clothes for costumes. I'm pretty sure it's there. I've racked my brain, both when I see others wearing the sweater on social media and doing the scene's pose. I really wish I had that sweater."
He humorously addressed his plea to the UCLA theater department: "UCLA, if you’re watching, could you check the archives and see if it's in the wardrobe department?"
Crystal's latest venture is the Apple TV+ series titled "Before", He stars in and produces the show.
This limited-run, 10-episode series includes co-stars Judith Light and Rosie Perez. It’s described as an "atmospheric, character-driven psychological thriller." The show focuses on Eli (Crystal), a child psychologist who encounters a troubled boy named Noah (Jacobi Jupe), forging a remarkable connection to Eli's past after the recent loss of his wife, Lynn (Light).
"As Eli attempts to help Noah, their mysterious bond deepens," the synopsis reveals.
You can catch "Before" every Friday on Apple TV+, with the series concluding on December 20.
