Brandon Sklenar Clarifies Meaning Behind Wearing Same Pin as Justin Baldoni
Brandon Sklenar recently addressed the coincidence of wearing the same brooch as Justin Baldoni at an Oscars afterparty. During the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar Party on March 2, Sklenar donned a floral brooch, sharing his outfit photos on Instagram with the caption, "Long live the (brooch)."
Fans quickly noticed that his pin resembled one that Baldoni wore at the New York City premiere of "It Ends With Us" on August 6. Sklenar was asked if there was a deeper significance to this matching accessory. He replied confidently to PEOPLE at the SXSW Film & TV Festival, saying, "Honestly, no. I wish I could say there was. That was a total happenstance."
Sklenar explained, "I woke up in the morning, saw an article, and I was like, 'Oh, damn.' I literally had no idea. I just thought I'd wear a floral brooch that I liked."
In his movie "Drop," directed by Christopher Landon, Sklenar stars alongside Meghann Fahy, who plays a widow on a disastrous first date due to unsettling phone threats. Discussing his chemistry with Fahy, Sklenar noted, "Having a real relationship and good vibe with co-stars makes filming enjoyable." He believed this authentic connection is evident in their performances.
Meanwhile, Blake Lively, another co-star in "It Ends With Us," premiered her film "Another Simple Favor" at SXSW on March 7. In December, Lively initiated legal action against Baldoni for harassment claims, which he denies. Inspired by these events, Sklenar was asked how he supports Lively during this difficult time.
"It's a tough situation," he remarked. "I hope everyone remembers what our movie represents. It highlights love and supporting women during challenging times." Sklenar emphasized the film's positive impact on viewers, urging, "I want people to focus on its core message and importance."
