Britney Spears Reunites with Son Jayden, 18, for a Heartwarming Holiday

The pop star shared that she hadn’t seen her younger son in "two years."

Britney Spears is celebrating Christmas with her son this year. The 43-year-old revealed on Instagram on December 25 that she experienced "tears of joy" while reuniting with her son Jayden James, 18. This moment is particularly special as they hadn’t seen each other in two years.

The heartwarming reunion was recorded on video. In the clip, Jayden greeted viewers with a "hello," standing beside his mom. She affectionately introduced him by saying, "this is my baby," then sweetly kissed his cheek. The footage continued to show the duo in front of a beautifully decorated Christmas tree. Wearing a red dress, Spears wished her fans a "Merry Christmas." Jayden joined in, saying "Merry Christmas!" Before the camera shifted to reveal a cozy fireplace.

"Best Christmas of my life!!!" Spears captioned her video post. She emphasized, "I haven’t seen my boys in 2 years!!!" Adding to her joy, she shared, "Tears of joy and literally in shock every day; koo koo crazy, so in love and blessed!!!" She expressed her gratitude, stating, "I’m speechless, thank you Jesus!!!"

The "Lucky" singer shares two sons, Jayden and Sean Preston, 19, with her ex-husband Kevin Federline. They divorced in 2006 after three years of marriage. Following their finalized divorce in July 2007, they arranged various custody plans. Recently, their children had been living with their father in Hawaii, a move Spears agreed to, as confirmed by Federline's attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan.

An additional source told PEOPLE that Federline contacted Spears earlier that month for approval to move to Hawaii. The insider noted, "Britney has always faithfully supported her children and wants them to be happy."

After a year in Hawaii, Jayden reunited with Spears in Los Angeles last month. They have spent quality time together at her home, according to an insider who shared, "Spending time together has made her happy."

Spears discussed motherhood while promoting her memoir, "The Woman in Me", on the cover of PEOPLE in October 2023. She described it as a "dream." She reflected on parenthood, saying, "Starting a family was my dream come true. Being a mom was my dream come true."

Preston and Jayden often joined their mother on tour and visited her during her Las Vegas residency. In 2021, Spears shared on Instagram, "I had my babies very young… at all the pools we went to on tours, all the babies flocked to me because I always brought the most toys. I really am a baby mama! 😜😜😜"
