Camila Cabello Announces Social Media Break: "A Writer Must Have Stories"
Camila Cabello is stepping back from social media for a while.
On Thursday morning, November 14, she shared a selfie via Instagram Stories. The 27-year-old artist stated, "a writer must have stories living them right now" while mentioning, "taking some cute little internet breaks."
This announcement follows her performance the previous day at the Elie Saab show in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Cabello dazzled the audience with a medley featuring "Never Be the Same," "Shameless," "Señorita," "Havana," and "I Luv It." The event also showcased performances by icons such as Jennifer Lopez and Céline Dion.
Cabello has previously addressed the importance of self-care. In August, she posted on Instagram about her struggles, saying she had been "going thru it lately."
"Feels like sometimes there is heartache everywhere I look, within me and around me," she expressed. "I try my best to show up for my friends, my fans, and those who support me, but it’s hard to pour from what feels like an empty cup."
She continued, "If I am a part of your life and I disappear sometimes, that’s probably why." She humorously mentioned, "so brb while I get some bandages and warm honey and stitches for this head and heart."
Later, Cabello assured fans, "You know I’ll be back from my trips to hell hotter, funnier, and smarter," adding a winky emoji and a note of #fieldnotes. She encapsulated her journey by saying, "27 is messy, gilded."
In June, Cabello released her new album, C,XOXO, which includes songs like "I Luv It," "He Knows" with Lil Nas X, and "Hot Uptown" with Drake. In September, she followed up with an extended edition, *Magic City Edition*, featuring four new tracks, including "Godspeed."
Since then, Cabello has returned to the stage with her first string of headline concerts since 2019. "I have not toured since my first album," she shared. "Even though I feel the stage is my second home, I always felt like more of a studio hermit and I needed to be off the road to become me."
Reflecting on her album C,XOXO, she stated, "When we made it, I knew I had to tour this body of work. These songs, these lyrics, these drums, this ENERGY – was MADE to be experienced live." She described it as a world filled with powerful women, vibrant Miami vibes, and an enduring summer spirit.
