Chad Franke Responds to "Brainwashed" Accusations

Chad Franke, Ruby Franke's 20-year-old son, has addressed claims of being "brainwashed" by his mother. These accusations arose following Ruby's legal troubles involving child abuse alongside her business partner, Jodi Hildebrandt.

In a quick rebuttal, Chad stated on Instagram Stories, "To all the people saying my dad and I are still brainwashed for loving another human being," directed criticism toward the doubters. He shared a humorous post featuring his cat a litter box, "eat Walter's s--t."

Chad also implied that Ruby's misleading influence arose from Hildebrandt's actions. He posted a picture referencing the video game character Wario, calling it a realization about his therapist.

Chad's response follows the debut of Devil in the Family: The Fall of Ruby Franke, which includes insights from Chad, his father Kevin Franke, and his sister, Shari Franke. Kevin remarked on Ruby's behavior, stating, "The actions that she did were atrocious, but I still feel a longing."

Chad supports this sentiment, revealing that Jodi manipulated Ruby, resulting in decisions that negatively affected the family. He urged others to understand the nuances surrounding their difficult situation.

Shari Franke also shared her perspective, explaining how their family dynamic under Ruby’s rule often made them feel like "employees" rather than children. Living in that environment felt more like a scripted setting than a home.

Ruby and Jodi have not made any public statements since their sentences. However, Ruby did apologize tearfully for her prior "distorted version of reality," acknowledging her mistakes during a 2024 sentencing.

In her emotional address to her children, she claimed a misunderstanding of relationships. She expressed a desire to do right by them, conveying regret for depriving them of love and safety.
