Chloe Fineman Claims Elon Musk Made Her Cry During SNL
Chloe Fineman discussed an emotional moment involving Elon Musk during his May 2021 Saturday Night Live hosting. In a now-removed TikTok video, the 36-year-old SNL comedian revealed that Musk's actions upset her.
Fineman began her video on November 11, expressing her need to speak out after reading articles about Musk's reactions to a sketch and his impression. Recently, Musk had shared thoughts about SNL while responding to Dana Carvey’s impression on X, referencing the 2024 presidential election.
He remarked, "SNL has been dying slowly for years, as they become increasingly out of touch with reality." Musk criticized the show's attempt to assist Kamala Harris's campaign, stating it only further harmed her position.
In her video, Fineman addressed Musk directly, saying, "If you're gonna go on your platform and be rude, guess what? You made me burst into tears because I stayed up all night writing this sketch." She detailed her excitement prior to the show and recounted her experience when she approached Musk for feedback.
"I came in, I asked if you had any questions, and you stared at me like you were firing me from Tesla," she stated. "'It’s not funny,' you said. I expected you to joke. Instead, you flipped through my script, saying, ‘I didn’t laugh. Not once.’"
While she didn't specify which sketch caused her distress, she noted it made it onto the show and "it was fine."
Fineman concluded, "I enjoyed the experience and thought you were funny. But please, demonstrate some manners."
This moment echoes Bowen Yang's earlier remarks on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, where he disclosed that another male host had made "multiple cast members cry" due to negativity toward their ideas.
