Christina Haack and Heather Rae El Moussa Discuss Their Group Chat with Tarek
Heather Rae El Moussa, Tarek El Moussa, and Christina Haack provided exciting insights during an Instagram Live on January 29, where they discussed their new HGTV series. The trio revealed they share a group chat, although they chose to keep its name a secret, PEOPLE reported.
"Oh, we have a group chat," Christina, 41, stated in response to a question. Heather, 37, enthusiastically added, "We don’t have a name," before whispering a suggested name to Christina, who agreed with excitement, saying, "Yes!"
Unfortunately, they did not disclose that potential name to the viewers.
Later, a viewer asked whether a spin-off featuring Heather and Christina might be in the works. Tarek, 43, humorously denied the possibility. However, Heather joined in with enthusiasm, exclaiming, "Flip Off! Girls Edition!" both laughed in response.
The"Flip Off" was announced in May 2024. Initially, the show would focus on Tarek and Heather competing against Christina and her then-partner, Josh Hall. After Josh, 44, filed for divorce from Christina on July 15, 2024, the show’s narrative shifted dramatically.
Promotional material now primarily features Tarek, Heather, and Christina. A December 2024 press release from HGTV clarified that Christina would collaborate with her "trusted team," dissociating from her ex.
During the January 29 show premiere, Christina shared personal experiences, disclosing some context on her previous relationships. In her discussion with Tarek, she expressed frustration about how her ex, Josh, would react whenever she interacted with Tarek.
"He gets very insecure," she tearfully explained to Tarek. "If I joked at [the kids'] soccer games, he would give me the silent treatment for days."
Christina and Tarek separated in 2016 after their seven-year marriage, officially divorcing the following year. Despite this, they continued co-hosting their HGTV show, Flip or Flop, for several seasons.
On The Jennifer Hudson Show, Christina highlighted that her upcoming solo competition might offer her advantages. She stated, "It’s easier without someone bothering me. I don’t require approval from anyone."
