Colin Egglesfield Reveals Cancer Diagnosis for the Third Time

Colin Egglesfield is urging others to take charge of their health after learning of his third cancer diagnosis, US Weekly reported.

"In life, it's not about the hand you've been dealt; it's how you play the cards," Egglesfield, 51, shared on Instagram on January 21. This quote from a past interview resonates with him now, as he faces new challenges amid his diagnosis. He acknowledges that the start of the year hasn't been easy, yet he sees it as an opportunity to define himself amidst uncertainty.

Egglesfield revealed that his prostate cancer was detected early last year. After extensive research and discussions with various healthcare professionals, he opted for proactive surgery. He expressed gratitude for the incredible support he has received from @cityofhopephx, Dr. Gellhaus, and the teams who have guided him during this troubling period.

While navigating his health battle, he extended thoughts of encouragement to others facing similar situations. "Remember, you are not alone. Advocate for your health through checkups and reaching out for help," he shared. Egglesfield appreciates the well-wishes he has received, noting that he is making tangible progress and growing stronger every day, with some help from his "sexy walker."

Egglesfield stated the importance of committing to a positive mindset. "I choose to embody RESILIENCE, FAITH, COURAGE, GRACE, and INSPIRATION," he declared. He emphasized the need for regular PSA checks, stressing that it has been lifesaving for him.

Previously, Egglesfield battled testicular cancer shortly after he began playing Josh Madden on "All My Children" in 2006. He discovered the cancer had spread despite having surgery to remove the affected testicle.

Reflecting on his journey, Egglesfield shared, "Receiving the diagnosis is terrifying because of the uncertainty it brings." In a 2019 interview with Us Weekly, he noted that reading about the experiences of others helped him gain courage. Inspiration from those who faced similar battles offered hope when he felt overwhelmed.

Recognized for his roles in "Melrose Place," "Something Borrowed," and "The Client List," Egglesfield credits his acting career for aiding him during difficult times.
