Colleen Hoover Supports Blake Lively Amid Lawsuit Against Justin Baldoni
Colleen Hoover, the author of It Ends With Us, expressed strong support for Blake Lively. The actress starred in the film adaptation of Hoover's book. Hoover shared her praise via an Instagram Story on December 21.
Hoover, 45, said, "Blake Lively, you have been nothing but honest, kind, supportive and patient since the day we met. Thank you for being exactly the human that you are. Never change. Never wilt." Her post included a heartfelt photo of Lively and Hoover in a warm embrace.
This Instagram post followed news of Lively's lawsuit against the film's director and lead actor, Justin Baldoni, 40. Lively’s legal filing took place on December 20. It alleges that Baldoni orchestrated a "social manipulation" campaign intended to "destroy" her reputation.
In the lawsuit, Lively accused Baldoni of sexual harassment. She claimed that a meeting was held in January 2024 to confront her concerns regarding Baldoni. Lively’s demands included restrictions on conversations about nudity, Baldoni’s past, intimate discussions, and even inquiries about Lively’s weight and personal loss.
Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, responded to these "outrageous" allegations. He characterized the claims as "completely false" and accused Lively of attempting to "fix her negative reputation." Freedman suggested that she issued "multiple demands" during filming, threatening to withdraw from promotional commitments that could harm the movie.
Lively expressed her hopes that her legal action would reveal harmful tactics against those vocal about misconduct. She emphasized that she had not spread defamatory claims regarding Baldoni. Earlier this year, speculation arose about tensions between Lively and Baldoni due to their absence together from promotional events leading up to the film's release in August.
Earlier, SSP reported that Justin Baldoni allegedly planned an online smear campaign against Blake Lively.
