Drew Scott Discusses His Daughter Piper: 'She’s a Little Sweetheart'
Drew Scott, star of "The Property Brothers," recently shared insights about his baby daughter, Piper. Along with his wife, Linda Phan, he welcomed her just five months ago on May 21. Drew appeared on The Jennifer Hudson Show with his twin brother, Jonathan Scott, and spoke fondly about his growing family.
"Piper is a little sweetheart," the 46-year-old stated, while also mentioning his son, Parker James, who is two. He affectionately nicknamed them the "PMP Music Factory."
Drew humorously noted how different Piper is from Parker: "She’s so different than Parker. Even though Parker's only two years older, it feels like starting fresh." The challenges of parenting a newborn have brought unique experiences. He joked about relearning diaper-changing skills, saying, "How do I maximize changing a diaper efficiently?"
Furthermore, Drew revealed that Parker thinks Jonathan is "the funniest person on the planet." He amusingly noted that Piper is starting to discern between him and Jonathan: "Piper now recognizes it’s not me."
Jonathan, who has become a stepfather to his girlfriend Zooey Deschanel's children with ex-husband Jacob Pechenik, expressed his affection for Piper. "I’m gonna spoil that girl," he stated with excitement. He contrasted Parker's enthusiastic response to his visits to his newborn niece's initial confusion regarding his appearance changes over the months.
At first, Piper uncertainly reacted to Jonathan due to his altered look. Drew jokingly remarked about his aging features affecting her recognition. "Now she smiles, and I can tell already she’s excited," Jonathan said, relating this to his experience with his own kids aged seven and nine.
He brought humor to his role as an uncle by stating, "I am a total immature clown. I’ll bring all that energy to this household."
Drew noted, "Piper smiles the moment we hand her over to Jonathan," affectionately highlighting their bond. However, his mother, Joanne Scott, had a different experience.
"When I handed her to my mom, she cried immediately. It kills her," Drew confirmed, sharing his mother's humorous reaction to her being upset. She even requested pictures of herself around Piper's crib to improve her recognition. Drew humorously worried if that would create an odd association.
The show featured a light moment where a video of Drew dancing near Piper's crib appeared. "This was me trying to get her to sleep," he laughed, acknowledging it might have been too entertaining for her instead.
