Elton John Shares Heartfelt Connection with Chappell Roan

In a recent interview with the U.K. online publication Them, Elton John expressed his admiration for Chappell Roan. He stated they frequently connect through FaceTime. The 27-year-old singer, known for "HOT TO GO!", has captured John's attention with her authenticity, PEOPLE reported.

"I fell in love with her when I first heard her music," John, 77, said. He recalled playing Roan's song "Pink Pony Club" on his Apple Music show, 'Rocket Hour,' three years ago. He praised her bravery and outspokenness. "She is not afraid to speak out and doesn’t do anything against her will," John noted.

He emphasized the importance of creative freedom. "If something drains your energy or creativity, don't do it," he added. Roan's ability to advocate for herself impresses John, who appreciates her boldness in saying 'no.’

John mentioned his supportive role in Roan’s career. "I often tell her she can lean on me for advice," he said. The singer admitted to feeling "in awe" during their FaceTime conversations, recognizing her talent and resilience. "I'm just there to say, ‘If you are uncertain, reach out anytime,'" he shared.

He highlights her journey toward success, stating, "She’s doing tremendously well." This support system reflects their close bond.

On March 2, 2025, John and Roan shared the stage at the Elton John AIDS Foundation's Academy Awards viewing party. John later posted memorable photos and videos on Instagram. The duo performed Roan's "Pink Pony Club" along with his classic, "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me."

"I officially joined the Pink Pony Club last night, courtesy of @chappellroan!" John wrote, expressing gratitude for their collaboration. He revealed the event raised over $8.6 million for the foundation. "This generosity transforms lives for those vulnerable to HIV worldwide," he stated.

Currently, Elton John is promoting his album, "Who Believes in Angels?", created alongside Brandi Carlile. Their single, "Swing for the Fences," aims to symbolize unwavering support for LGBTQIA+ individuals.
