Mike Bell, an architect, and his son Luke Bell, a renowned content creator and Sony ambassador, hailing from Western Cape, have ingeniously crafted the quadcopter known as Peregreen 2. This incredible drone, fabricated using 3D-printed carbon fiber and powered by batteries, caught the attention of Guinness World Records due to its astonishing abilities.
To achieve their record, the Bells enlisted the expertise of aerothermal engineer Chris Rosser, who assisted in fine-tuning the drone's control system. Interestingly, they conducted two runs in opposite directions to showcase the drone's prowess in maneuvering against both tailwinds and headwinds.
