Former President Bill Clinton Hospitalized After Developing Fever

Former President Bill Clinton, 78, is undergoing treatment in Washington, D.C. for a "not urgent" medical issue related to a fever, as confirmed by NBC News.

Former President Clinton is on the mend after being hospitalized due to a fever. A spokesperson for Clinton confirmed to NBC News that he is recovering.

"President Clinton has been admitted to MedStar Georgetown University Hospital for testing and observation after developing a fever," stated Angel Ureña, Deputy Chief of Staff for Clinton. "He is in good spirits and grateful for the care he is receiving."

So far, Clinton's wife, Hillary, and daughter, Chelsea, have not publicly commented on his recovery.

This incident is not Clinton's first health challenge since he left office in 2001. In 2004, he garnered global attention due to a quadruple bypass surgery at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. Additionally, in 2010, he returned to the same hospital for another heart procedure, which involved the insertion of two stents into a coronary artery.

Clinton's hospitalization follows the recent 2024 election, during which he actively campaigned for various Democrats, including presidential hopeful Kamala Harris. Harris lost to President-Elect Donald Trump last month.

"In 2024, I see a pretty clear choice," Clinton stated during an Aug. 21 speech at the Democratic National Convention. "Kamala is for the people. The other guy is about me, myself, and I."

Clinton, who has spoken at all Democratic conventions since 1976, seemed reflective about his legacy during this notable event, held every four years.

"I want to say this from the bottom of my heart," he shared with the audience. "I have no idea how many more of these I’ll be able to come to."
