Gemini Subscribers Can Now Use 'Polish' Writing Tool for Emails
Google has enhanced its Gemini writing assistant in Gmail, making it easier to draft and refine your emails. The upgraded Gemini tools now offer an option to polish drafts you’ve already written. In addition to existing options like Formalize, Elaborate, and Shorten, the new "Polish" feature helps refine your email content for clarity and professionalism. This is prepared by SSP.
For paid users, those with Google One AI Premium or a Gemini add-on for Workspace, these AI writing tools are more accessible than ever. When you start an empty draft, a "Help me write" shortcut appears, allowing Gemini to generate a draft for you. Once your draft reaches 12 or more words, a "Refine my draft" shortcut appears in the text body, letting you choose to Polished, Formalized, Elaborated, Shortened, or even request a completely new draft. If the shortcut is not visible, tapping the pencil icon offers the same functionality.
These enhancements are available across web, Android, and iOS devices. Gemini's powerful tools can now not only write for you but also adjust tone and polish your messages. This functionality included in June 2024, added the ability to summarize emails, remains exclusive to corporate users and those with Google One AI Premium subscriptions.
