Gracie Abrams Shares Emotional Speech at Taylor Swift’s Final Eras Tour Show

Gracie Abrams shares the sentiment of many fans — she isn’t ready to say goodbye to Taylor Swift's Eras Tour.

At the final show at BC Place in Vancouver, Canada, on December 8, Abrams, 25, performed once again as a guest. Prior to her performance, she approached the stage with a piece of paper in hand.

In an emotional speech, seen in a fan’s TikTok post, Abrams expressed her reluctance for the tour to end. She reflected on Swift’s profound impact on her life. "Like all of you, I [was] brought up with Taylor’s songs," Abrams explained, dressed in a striking white gown. She shared that Swift provided hope and connection during moments of yearnings and challenges. "How are we supposed to have the words for it? We don’t yet," she continued. "But I do know we have each other, thanks to Taylor."

Abrams, honored to duet with Swift on December 7, fought back tears during her speech. She urged the crowd to show appreciation. "We are all here to remind her how deeply she’s touched us," Abrams stated. "Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for giving us the time of our lives."

Swift began the Eras Tour in Glendale, Arizona, in March 2023, touring across the U.S. until August. She then took the tour international, performing in South America, Asia, Australia, and Europe until August 2024. In October 2023, Swift returned to North America for her final shows.

Before becoming friends with Swift, Abrams described herself as a devoted fan. In a July 2023 Vanity Fair profile, she noted that "every formative memory in my life is paired with a Taylor Swift song that helped me get through." Their friendship began unexpectedly when Abrams received a call from an unknown number inviting her to Swift's birthday party. She confirmed the invitation with a mutual producer, anxious about getting her hopes up.

Following that, Swift personally invited Abrams to join the Eras Tour as an opening act. In a December 2023 interview with Variety, she shared, "[It was] the best experience of my life." Abrams reflected on the impact of the tour, describing how it enriched her life and informed her own music journey.

In June 2023, Swift announced the tour’s end, calling it "the most exhausting, all-encompassing, but most joyful, most rewarding, most wonderful thing that has ever happened in my life."
