Grimes Urges Elon Musk to Keep Their Children Hidden: 'It's Very Concerning'
Grimes, the musician and mother to three children with Elon Musk, has emphasized her anxiety regarding media exposure. The couple shares son X Æ A-Xii, 4, daughter Exa Dark Sideræl, 3, and son Techno Mechanicus, 2.
In a recent post on X, Grimes revealed that she has "begged" Musk to keep their children away from both public view and social media. She mentioned she has sought "legal recourse" over this issue.
Grimes, whose real name is Claire Boucher, addressed a fake post discussing CEO sexuality. In her response to a fan’s concern, she shared, "I sadly do not control the internet and cannot erase this content." She further explained her attempts to persuade Musk to protect their kids. "I’ve seen young people hurt by the internet," she added.
"The public nature of my children’s lives worries me greatly. I think about this continuously," she stated. Grimes expressed her frustration over the lack of solutions, saying, "It’s unbelievable that there’s no way to address this." She expressed a desire for a law protecting children’s privacy. However, she confided, "I’m unsure if any legal recourse would truly assist me at this point."
"This environment lacks privacy; it resembles the Wild West of information," Grimes concluded.
Previously, Musk sparked discussion after bringing X Æ A-Xii to the Oval Office. This happened during an event where President Donald Trump signed an executive order increasing Musk’s department's authority. Grimes learned of this event only through social media. "He should not be in public like this," she wrote on X.
The musician reiterated her discontent with media coverage in an interview with Time. "It seemed to depict me as simply criticizing; however, I wish people would cease posting images of my child." She emphasized that "fame should be consensual."
Grimes requested, "I can only plead, so I am just pleading."
Musk and Grimes ended their three-year relationship in September 2021. Three months later, they quietly welcomed daughter Exa via surrogate. In September 2023, it also became known that their son Techno Mechanicus was born in June 2022.
Musk is the father to 14 children overall, including six with ex-wife Justine Wilson. Their first son, Nevada, tragically passed away at ten weeks due to SIDS. Additionally, Musk shares four children with Shivon Zilis, a Neuralink executive, while influencer Ashley St. Clair has announced they expect a child in September 2024.
