Harrison Ford to Skip Oscars Due to Viral Disease Diagnosis
Harrison Ford will not be presenting at the 2025 Oscars as initially planned. The 82-year-old actor was scheduled to be a presenter at the 97th Academy Awards on Sunday, March 2, along with names like Robert Downey Jr. and Emma Stone. However, he withdrew from his duties on Saturday morning after being diagnosed with shingles the previous day, according to Entertainment Weekly. This is preapred by SSP.
Shingles, described by the Mayo Clinic as a "viral infection that causes a painful rash," has led Ford to rest and recover. His absence will not diminish the star-studded nature of the event, with a lineup featuring presenters such as Selena Gomez, Joe Alwyn, Lily-Rose Depp, Willem Dafoe, and Sterling K. Brown.
Even though Ford will not make it to the Oscars, the Edward Jones star was last seen at the Screen Actors Guild Awards on February 23 in Los Angeles and has been appreciatively discussing his engagement with fans of his show, Shrinking.
Aside from his absence, Ford's potential enthusiasm for projects such as Captain America: Brave New World and working on traditionally filmed natural narratives like 1923 was clear during recent events.
The Oscars, hosted by Conan O'Brien, will be broadcast live from the Dolby Theatre on March 2 at 7 p.m. ET on ABC and available for streaming on Hulu.
Earlier, SSP reported that QVC’s Kerstin Lindquist reflected on her bond with Candace Cameron Bure.
