Honor launches MagicPad 2, powered by incredible Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, together with Pad 9 Pro
Honor recently unveiled two new tablets, the Honor MagicPad 2 and Honor Pad 9 Pro, targeting different price segments. The MagicPad 2 boasts a powerful Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset and features an impressive OLED display. On the other hand, the Pad 9 Pro runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 SoC and flaunts an LCD screen. Both tablets are fueled by MagicOS 8, which is based on the latest Android 14 operating system. Additionally, they are equipped with a primary 13-megapixel camera. This is reported by SSP.
Price-wise, the base configuration of Honor MagicPad 2 starts at CNY 2999 (roughly Rs. 34,500) for the 8GB+256GB RAM and storage variant. Customers can also choose from higher-end models with 12GB+256GB, 16GB+512GB, and 16GB+1TB configurations, priced at gradually increasing levels. Moving on to the Honor Pad 9 Pro, it starts at CNY 2299 (roughly Rs. 26,500) for the 8GB+256GB version, while the 12GB RAM variant with the same storage capacity is available at a slightly higher price. Furthermore, an additional CNY 200 (roughly Rs. 2,300) can purchase the "soft version" (translated from Chinese) edition of the tablet for each storage option.
In terms of color options, customers in China can opt for the elegant Moon Shadow White, Sky Blue, or Starry Sky Black (translated from Chinese) for the Honor MagicPad 2, while the Honor Pad 9 Pro offers Sky Blue and Starry Gray (translated from Chinese) variants.
Taking a closer look at the specifications, both the Honor MagicPad 2 and Pad 9 Pro run on the newly introduced MagicOS 8, which is based on the Android 14 operating system. The MagicPad 2 features a stunning 12.3-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1,920x3,000 pixels, while the Pad 9 Pro sports a 12.1-inch TFT LCD screen with 1,600x2,560-pixel resolution, both offering a maximum refresh rate of 144Hz.
Under the hood, the Honor MagicPad 2 is powered by the robust Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, coupled with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage capacity. On the other hand, the Honor Pad 9 Pro is equipped with the efficient Dimensity 8100 SoC, offering up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of inbuilt storage. Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the 13-megapixel primary rear camera with autofocus and f/2.0 aperture found on both tablets. Additionally, the MagicPad 2 features a 9-megapixel secondary camera, while the Pad 9 Pro boasts a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with a fixed-focus lens and an f/2.2 aperture.
Connectivity-wise, both tablets support Wi-Fi 6, making for faster and more efficient browsing experiences. The MagicPad 2 and Pad 9 Pro are compatible with Bluetooth 5.3 and Bluetooth 5.2 devices, respectively. When it comes to battery life, users can rely on a substantial 10,050mAh battery, with the MagicPad 2 supporting 35W charging and the Pad 9 Pro supporting rapid 66W charging. In terms of dimensions, the Honor MagicPad measures 274.5x180.5x5.8mm and weighs 555g, while the Pad 9 Pro measures 277x178.95x6.64mm and weighs 589g.
