Hugh Jackman and ex-wife Deborra-Lee Furness are finding their way after their 2023 separation, although it has not been easy. An insider shared with US Weekly that the breakup has been "stressful" and challenging, lacking a fully amicable nature.

Their disagreements post-split have added complications. However, both parents of Oscar, 24, and Ava, 19, have managed to establish a cooperative relationship. The source noted, "They’re moving forward as best they can despite hurt feelings and pain." The long duration of their marriage means that full recovery may take time.

Jackman, 56, and Furness, 69, met in 1995 while filming the Australian TV show "Correlli." They wed in 1996 and expanded their family with the adoption of their son in 2000, followed by their daughter five years later. Throughout their enduring 27-year marriage, Furness consistently addressed speculation regarding Jackman's sexuality.

During an April 2022 episode of the "Not an Overnight Success" podcast, Furness humorously remarked on the topic. "If he was gay, he could be gay! He didn’t have to hide," she explained. Her point emphasized the openness they maintained.

Despite recent challenges, Jackman publicly expressed his affection for Furness just prior to their announcement. In an April 2023 Instagram post, he celebrated their anniversary, stating, "I love you Deb. Your laughter and courage is an incredible gift to me."

 In September 2023, they officially revealed their separation. Their joint announcement read, "We have been blessed to share almost three decades together... Our journey now is shifting, and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth."

One year later, Jackman garnered attention when linked to Sutton Foster. Gossip blogger Tasha Lustig suggested that Jackman had "blindsided" Furness by pursuing a relationship with Foster. Notably, Furness "liked" this post, hinting at the accuracy of this claim.

In November 2024, US Weekly reported that Jackman and Foster, 49, were indeed dating, confirming romance blossomed during their Broadway production "The Music Man." An insider claimed that this new relationship played a role in Jackman's divorce, stating, "A lot of people on Broadway knew, but it was kept quiet."

Foster was still married to Ted Griffin during the early stages of the affair, having filed for divorce in October 2024. Despite the complexities of their relationship, Jackman and Foster began appearing publicly in January.
