Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Confirmed for PS5 at Gamescom
Microsoft and Bethesda have officially confirmed that "Indiana Jones and the Great Circle" will be coming to PS5 following its initial release on Xbox. During the Gamescom Opening Night Live event, Bethesda revealed that the game will first be available on Xbox Series X/S and PC on December 9th, 2024, and later on PS5 in the spring of 2025. This is prepared by SSP.
This announcement aligns with earlier reports stating that a PS5 release was being planned, though initially there would be a period of exclusivity for Xbox. Sources familiar with Bethesda's strategy indicate an April 2025 launch date for the PS5 version, though this may change based on development timings.
The release of "Indiana Jones and the Great Circle" on PS5 is part of a broader multiplatform approach by Microsoft, often referred to as Project Latitude. As part of this initiative, Bethesda has also confirmed that their upcoming game, "Doom: The Dark Ages," will join PS5 in 2025. Previous Xbox exclusives like "Hi-Fi Rush," "Pentiment," "Sea of Thieves," and "Grounded" have also made the transition to available PS5 titles.
Bethesda also showcased a new trailer featuring Troy Baker on set, noting that players will utilize iconic tools like Indy's whip, colt, trusty journal, and camera to navigate through the game's storyline. The narrative focuses on the mystery of the Great Circle, packed with global adventures and conflicts against dark forces.
In addition, those keen on purchasing the game can pre-order it now for both Xbox and PC. When released, it will be available on Xbox Game Pass from day one. Wishlist options are available for PS5 users. Pre-order incentives include the "Last Crusade Pack," featuring the Travelling Suit Outfit and Lion Tamer Whip, as well as various early-access benefits depending on the edition.
Here’s a summary of available editions:
- Standard Edition: Includes the base game, part of Xbox Game Pass, available in both digital and physical versions.
- Premium Edition: Offers the base game, up to three days early access, "The Order of the Giants" story DLC, a digital art book, Temple of Doom Outfit, and "Last Crusade Pack."
- Premium Edition Upgrade: Similar perks to the Premium Edition alongside additional DLC content.
- Collector’s Edition: Adds a Great Circle 11" Globe with hidden storage, physical commemorative items, such as a Jumbo SteelBook Case, New Adventure Journal, and greater physical collectibles.
News of this multiplatform rollout follows Microsoft's expanding strategy to bring its previously exclusive titles to broader audiences. The re-release of games such as "Sea of Thieves" had significant success on PS5, topping download charts upon arrival.
