Influencer and Humanitarian Dora Moono Nyambe Dies at 32

Dora Moono Nyambe, a prominent humanitarian and social media personality, has passed away at 32.

"It is with a heavy heart that we announce the sudden departure of our beloved Dora," Nyambe’s family announced in an Instagram statement on Friday, December 27. "She will be remembered as a cherished mother, heroine, peace philanthropist, and an extraordinary woman."

Nyambe dedicated her life to humanitarian efforts and education in her village. She provided food and shelter to local youth and documented her impactful work across YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok, amassing over 4 million followers.

A teacher associated with Nyambe's organization confirmed her passing in a TikTok video shared earlier this week. "I am officially announcing the loss of my beloved CEO, director, manager, and founder of Footprints of Hope School, who died on December 25," she declared. "Our sister will be buried here in Mapapa at Footprints of Hope School. Thank you so much for everything."

Nyambe’s funeral is scheduled to take place at Mapapa Village in Mukushi, Zambia, on Monday, December 30. The originally planned burial date was postponed. "The burial of the late Dora Moono Nyambe has been moved to Monday afternoon due to unforeseen challenges," a statement on Saturday, December 28, explained. "We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding during this difficult time."

The note further expressed gratitude: "We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported us, whether financially or otherwise. Your kindness has been a great comfort and strength for the family during this time."

No public information regarding the cause of Nyambe's death has been shared.

Nyambe moved to Zambia to establish a boarding school through her nonprofit, Footprints of Hope. In an October Instagram video, she shared her motivation: "I came to Mapapa Village while waiting for my visa to be approved. I needed to renew my visa. This is [my friend’s] village. When I arrived, I noticed that many children were facing violence and hardships."

Nyambe established four schools, providing education for over 500 children. "That is why I keep getting more kids," she stated. "It’s tough to say, ‘Let me turn this kid away’ or ‘I can’t house you.’ There are many kids in the village, but I lack the resources."
