This belief also guided his decision to leave Fun.

Antonoff commented that, although Fun. was at its peak when it won awards for Best New Artist and Song of the Year at the Grammys in 2013, the group began to drift into obscurity, underscoring his decision to step away. He identified himself as a bandleader who values singing his lyrics and sharing his narrative, a passion that wasn't fulfilled in Fun., which he admitted felt accidental and stressful.

Known also for his prolific collaborations as a producer, Antonoff has worked with numerous celebrated artists like Taylor Swift and Lorde, further demonstrating his versatility and creativity in the industry.
