Jade Thirlwall Reveals Harry Styles Ignored Her After Their Date
Jade Thirlwall revealed that Harry Styles "ignored" her during The X Factor season seven. The Little Mix member shared that after a short date, he later apologized for ghosting her.
Thirlwall and Styles have a shared backstory. During their auditions for the U.K. version of The X Factor in 2010, they briefly dated at age sixteen. In a January 20 episode of The Louis Theroux Podcast, Jade explained how Harry was "put in a band," eventually becoming One Direction.
Although Jade did not advance that season, she and Harry managed to "keep in touch." However, when One Direction moved to the live shows, he stopped messaging her. "The minute they went on live shows, he didn't message me back," she said. She realized his rise in fame meant he had moved on.
Jade's return to The X Factor occurred the following year, a part of a girl group that included Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, and Leigh-Anne Pinnock. At this time, One Direction performed on the show. Jade encountered Harry backstage after their performance. "I'm really sorry that I ignored you," he said, prompting laughter from Jade and host Louis Theroux. "I was so young," she commented, indicating it wasn't significant to her.
Jade described Styles as "always really, really lovely" during their audition time. She praised him, stating, "He's very talented, very lovely, very charming."
Jade’s reflections join a broader connection with One Direction among the Little Mix members. Perrie Edwards, another band member, dated Zayn Malik for four years, ultimately calling off their engagement in 2015.
In a previous interview, Zayn shared insights about his relationship with Perrie, recalling their age difference. "From 17 to 21, I was in a relationship," he noted. At the time, he felt pressure to prove maturity, admiring Chinese rules imposed by his family. In his youthful understanding, "This makes me a grown man," he admitted, trying to portray himself as mature through early responsibilities.
