James Kennedy's Attorneys Claim There Were 'No Injuries' in Incident That Led to Domestic Violence Arrest
James Kennedy, a prominent figure on "Vanderpump Rules," faced domestic violence charges following an incident on December 10. The 32-year-old was arrested at his home and later released on $20,000 bail, PEOPLE reported.
Kennedy's legal team released a statement on December 13, addressing the ongoing investigation. "We are actively looking into the Burbank Police Department's allegations against James," the attorneys stated. They stressed, "We understand that there were no injuries." They expressed hope that the city's attorneys would choose not to pursue formal charges after their review.
The Burbank Police confirmed that they responded to a call regarding an altercation between a male and female on the evening of December 10. A spokesperson noted, "The investigation established it as a domestic incident, resulting in [Kennedy's] arrest for misdemeanor domestic violence." The case is currently under review by the Burbank City Attorney's office.
Initial reports, including one from TMZ, indicated that a witness observed the reality star engage in physical behavior toward an unnamed woman. However, officials did not find any visible injuries at the scene.
A second source shared details about Kennedy's behavior that night, describing him as "erratic" and noticing he frequently moved towards the bar, bumping into people. The source added that he appeared intoxicated and was often alone, maintaining a rude and irritated demeanor.
Following the incident, Kennedy's girlfriend, Ally Lewber, was seen at a celebration on December 11, where she was photographed getting a tattoo. The couple began dating in January 2022, soon after Kennedy's engagement to his *VPR* costar Rachel Leviss ended.
Lewber recalled their meeting, mentioning her familiarity with "Vanderpump Rules." "I went down the Bravo rabbit hole during COVID," she noted during the show’s season 10 reunion. Even with Kennedy's controversial background on the series, Lewber described her experience with him as "different" and stated, "I gave him a chance to really show me who he is."
