Jason Kelce Discusses Parenting Challenges with His Kids on 'New Heights' Podcast
Jason Kelce recently revealed his parenting style during an episode of the podcast "New Heights," hosted with his brother Travis Kelce. The father of three, who is expecting a fourth child with wife Kylie, discussed how he encourages his daughters to confront their fears. He believes this approach helped him overcome challenges as a child, PEOPLE reported.
"I keep trying to get my kids to try new things," he stated. "I feel like that’s how I overcame fears." However, Jason jokingly expressed frustration as his children often refuse these activities.
While sharing his experiences, Jason reflected on how their father, Ed Kelce, instilled a similar mindset in him and Travis. "Our dad made us try things we were afraid of, like playing hockey," Travis chimed in. Jason admitted that his daughters do not respond the same way.
"They act like I’m a bad dad when I push them," Jason said. He added, "That’s part of being a dad," highlighting the struggles even caring parents face.
Recently, Jason enjoyed a family trip to Disney World after the Pro Bowl. He mentioned a tipping point during his visit, citing advice from ESPN correspondent Dan Orlovsky about enjoying the park responsibly.
"I went the following day to Disney," Jason recalled, sharing a recommendation for the Dawa Bar. This tip added to his overall enjoyment of the trip, emphasizing the Christmas wonder with the family.
Jason and Kylie are proud parents to daughters Wyatt, 5, Elliotte, 3, and Bennett, 1. They are looking forward to their fourth daughter due this spring.
Travis enthusiastically praised the couple, noting, "Kylie and Jason are just unbelievable parents." He expressed his anticipation for their upcoming addition, humorously warning that their home might turn into "chaos."
