Jason Kelce Reflects on Travis' Unique Connection with Taylor Swift: 'He Really, Really Liked Her'

In a recent episode of "The Steam Room," Jason Kelce discussed the early stages of his brother Travis Kelce's relationship with Taylor Swift. The former Philadelphia Eagles player shared insights on what made this relationship feel distinct, PEOPLE reported.

During the podcast, co-host Ernie Johnson asked Jason about his first awareness of the romance between Travis, 35, of the Kansas City Chiefs, and the pop sensation. Although Jason admitted he couldn't remember the exact moment he learned about their relationship, he recounted a memorable conversation where Travis mentioned "hanging out" with Swift, a 14-time Grammy winner.

Jason described his reaction, saying, "I just remember being like, ‘Are you kidding me? You’re hanging out with Taylor Swift. That’s awesome for you.’"

Jason observed that this relationship felt different than Travis's previous ones. He noted, "What also felt different is just the way he talks about her and talked about her from the moment he was with her."

He articulated how evident it was that Travis had a strong affection for Swift early on: "You could tell how much he really, really liked her, right from the get-go." Jason said this level of admiration was eye-opening during their early discussions.

This recent interview aligns with Jason's insights from a prior episode of the Fitz & Whit podcast. There, he expressed that Travis is "changing," highlighting his brother's growth and the influence of those he chooses to surround himself with, speculating that Swift plays a role in this transformation.

"You get people in your life that inspire you," Jason stated. He paralleled Travis to "Peter Pan, the lost boys," emphasizing the positives of such relationships.

Travis and Taylor first fueled dating rumors in September 2023 when she attended several of his games. Their love story confirmed the romance during games at Arrowhead Stadium, where Swift was notably seen supporting the Chiefs. She has frequently been present during his games, including his 2024 and 2025 Super Bowl appearances.

Recently, Travis expressed on "The Stephen A. Smith Show" that he and Swift "are happy." He appreciates the support he receives, stating, "I couldn’t be happier to have that confidence and comfort off the field."

Travis valued the strength of their relationship, saying it bolstered his focus on becoming the best version of himself both on and off the field.
