Jax Taylor Addresses Nose Job Speculation Linked to Cocaine Use
Jax Taylor responded to speculation regarding his multiple nose jobs during his podcast, "In the Mind of a Mind." On March 27, the 45-year-old reality star tackled a listener's question about whether cocaine use was the reason for these procedures.
Taylor laughed and clarified, "No. I didn’t like how my nose looked." He confessed that he had wanted a nose job for years but couldn't afford it at the time. He added, "My whole family has the same nose. I finally had the opportunity to get it done."
He detailed that his initial nose job was purely cosmetic. The second surgery was a necessity due to an injury he sustained when he walked into a glass door on an early episode of Vanderpump Rules. His routine visits to the plastic surgeon for maintenance fueled jokes about his ongoing procedures.
This fan inquiry came shortly after Taylor publicly acknowledged his battle with addiction. On Bravo’s "Hot Mic," he shared, "I have substance issues—primarily with cocaine." He further stated, "I’ve been struggling with this since I was 23. Currently, I’m 45, and I've had cycles of stopping and heavy use."
He also mentioned making lifestyle changes by eliminating alcohol. Taylor stated, "People ask if I have an alcohol problem. I don’t think so, but the substances go hand in hand." He noted that alcohol was often part of his cocaine use, saying, "So I just gave up both. I’m proud to be 83 days sober, the longest I’ve managed without either."
While reflecting on his path to sobriety, Taylor recognized signs that observers might have noticed. He recalled moments when producers expressed concern, stating, "They pulled me aside and said, ‘Listen, calm down.’" Taylor explained that production wasn't responsible for supplying substances, emphasizing, "I went off on my own. Most people would rest during downtime, but I went to bars."
He continued to clarify occasions when party scenes occurred, stating, "During certain times, we attended parties, but for important scenes, producers said, ‘Stay away.’ We would sneak away to indulge before filming."
In a recent cover story for Us Weekly, Taylor discussed achieving over 100 days of sobriety. He explained that many of his struggles stemmed from masking loneliness, admitting, "I used drugs and alcohol as a crutch." He emphasized that healing is not a quick process and requires dedication, noting, "I’m not used to putting in the work."
In conclusion, Taylor expressed a commitment to facing his addiction. He stated, "This isn’t something that will resolve quickly. Many believe I’ve caused significant damage that won’t just disappear."
