Jhené Aiko’s Home Lost in California Fires
Jhené Aiko recently shared a distressing photo of her home engulfed in flames amid the Los Angeles fires. The 36-year-old singer posted the image on her Instagram Stories on January 12, showing smoke filling the air behind her building.
In her post, Aiko explained that a neighbor had sent her the picture while she was away with her family. "This was my home for all you misinformed blogs posting a different house," she clarified.
Aiko's post followed her announcement of the destruction caused by the wildfires in Southern California. While she faced criticism, she replied directly to detractors, emphasizing her hard work in providing a stable home for her children, PEOPLE reported.
"With all due respect. Many are loud and wrong. I worked very hard … for many years, through a lot of pain … to provide my children with this house," she stated, expressing her deep devotion to her home.
On Thursday, Aiko reassured her supporters that she and her two children were safe. She has a 2-year-old son, Noah, with Big Sean, and a 16-year-old daughter, Namiko. Aiko expressed her prayers for others affected by the fires.
"Praying for everyone this morning," Aiko posted. "Those who lost their home, those who lost their life's work, those who lost their life."
In her emotional messages, Aiko articulated her grief over the loss of material possessions, emphasizing the connection of these items to cherished memories.
Raising deeper philosophical thoughts, Aiko noted that "to lose, to suffer, to feel … is to be alive." She expressed gratitude, despite the devastation, stating, "Uncertainty is an opportunity to create. So be it! I will!!!!"
