Earlier this week, Redick shared insights about the wildfires. He revealed that his family was among those evacuated from the Pacific Palisades area. "I just want to acknowledge and send thoughts and prayers to everyone in Palisades right now. That's where I live," he stated before a game against the Dallas Mavericks. His concerns reflected the fears gripping many residents, including his family.

The devastating wildfires have scorched over 17,000 acres, as noted by USA Today. ESPN also highlights that over 5,300 structures have sustained damage. Prominent figures like Lakers star LeBron James expressed solidarity via social media. "Praying for everyone in Southern California!!" James posted on Wednesday.

The Lakers' scheduled home game against the Charlotte Hornets was postponed due to the ongoing crisis. In a statement, the organization expressed its heartbreak, saying, "Our thoughts are with all those impacted by this unimaginable situation." They also expressed gratitude for first responders.
