Joe Burrow Talks About Home Burglary Involving Olivia Ponton
Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has responded to the robbery at his home, where his rumored girlfriend, Olivia Ponton, was present. "Everyone has heard what happened. I feel that my privacy has been violated," Burrow, 28, stated during a press conference on December 11, as reported by Sports Illustrated. "Much more is out there than I would like or care to share, so that's all I have to say about that."
When asked about his frustration regarding the exposure of his personal life, Burrow said, "That’s part of it. We live publicly, and the lack of privacy is one of my least favorite aspects. It has been challenging throughout my career. I’m still learning, but I accept it’s the life we choose. It doesn’t make it easier."
According to a police report from TMZ Sports, officers responded to a burglary call at Burrow’s Ohio residence around 8:14 p.m. ET on December 9 while he and the Bengals were in Texas for a game against the Dallas Cowboys.
The report identifies Ponton, 22, as being at Burrow’s home at the time deputies arrived. She informed the authorities about a "shattered bedroom window" and a room that had been "ransacked."
Ponton contacted her mother, Diane, who then called 911. "Someone is trying to break into the house right now," Ponton’s mother told the dispatcher. "My daughter is there. This is Joe Burrow’s house. He is at the football game."
While Burrow and Ponton have not publicly confirmed their relationship status, speculation surrounding the couple has persisted since the summer.
Ponton’s mother expressed concern, saying her daughter was unsure whether to hide or go outside because an intruder was in the home.
Ponton made a separate 911 call, stating, "Someone broke into my house." She added, "It’s just completely messed up."
In the police report, Ponton is noted as being "employed by Mr. Burrow." At the scene, she provided officers with a non-detailed list of potentially missing items.
Two days prior to the incident, Ponton shared a strange experience with a delivery driver on TikTok. "Never use your real name or photo on services like Uber, Uber Eats, or DoorDash," she advised her 7 million followers. "Let this be your sign. Consider changing it to a guy’s name — Jason, Jake, John — anything. And delete the photo. Let this be your sign."
