John Krasinski Named People’s Sexiest Man Alive 2024

John Krasinski has been awarded People’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2024, succeeding 2023's winner, Patrick Dempsey. The former star of The Office was announced as the titleholder during the November 12 episode of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.

When host Stephen Colbert attributed the honor to Krasinski’s kindness, the actor humorously responded, "I think it's that — and the biceps."

Upon learning of his win, Krasinski experienced disbelief. "Just immediate blackout, actually. Zero thoughts," he shared in an article released on the same day. He humorously speculated, "Maybe I'm being punked. That's not how I wake up, thinking, ‘Is this the day that I'll be asked to be Sexiest Man Alive?’"

In a playful vein, Krasinski recounted his wife, Emily Blunt’s reaction. He said she was "very excited" and plans to use his magazine cover as wallpaper in their Brooklyn home. "Do we have that on camera? Because that’s like a binding contract, I think," Krasinski joked, acknowledging his children's reactions.

With childlike enthusiasm, he also remarked, "There was a lot of joy involved in me telling her." Krasinski added that with marriage, "you’re constantly learning and changing." He expressed gratitude for sharing this journey with Blunt.

Krasinski foresaw some changes at home following his recognition as a heartthrob. "I think it's going to make me do more household chores," he quipped. He predicted that Blunt may expect him to earn his title through increased domestic responsibilities.

Krasinski takes the crown after Dempsey, who admitted surprise at his win. "I was completely shocked," Dempsey shared in November 2023. Laughter erupted from his family, who jokingly questioned the validity of the title at home.

For the title of sexiest new heartthrob, readers chose Jacob Elordi from Saltburn and Euphoria. The 27-year-old edged out other contenders in the category, including Nicholas Galatzine, Gavin Casalegno, and Manny Jacinto.
