Julia Fox Stuns in a Sheer Dress at Fashion Awards, Discusses Identity Struggles

Julia Fox made a statement at the British Fashion Awards by wearing a bold sheer dress. The actress, known for her daring fashion choices, opted for a stunning, see-through gown designed by Dilara Findikoglu.

At 34, Fox showcased an eye-catching white lace gown featuring a corseted bodice. Her distinctive ghostly makeup and bleached brows added an eerie yet alluring touch, giving off a difficult-to-ignore creepy Victorian doll persona. In an interview with The New York Times, Fox shared feelings of not fitting in among other moms at her son Valentino’s school. She described how her unique style often makes her feel isolated.

"There are moments when I revert to that insecure 14-year-old girl," she explained. Reflecting on her son’s new school, she recalled arriving in her distinctive outfit—distressed leather mules, an oversized Vetements blazer, and baggy Margiela basketball shorts. Seeing the other moms dressed more conventionally triggered her insecurities, prompting her to want to blend in.

Fox stated, "It’s challenging to fit in as a 'normal’ person. But eventually, 'freaks’ realize it’s better to be authentic. Pretending drains me. Being unique can be beautiful. That’s why I encourage women and queer individuals to take inspiration from my journey."

Additionally, Fox mentioned her fashion inspiration comes from Instagram. "I often discover new designers with only a thousand followers and feel like I’ve hit the jackpot," she said. This process of seeking styles for her wardrobe is both a passion and a time challenge, revealing the mixed feelings about social media's influence on her life.
