Kaitlyn Bristowe Shares Raw Post-Op Photos from Eyelid Surgery: 'Everyone Wants to Look Like This'
Kaitlyn Bristowe recently shared candid post-operative images following her eyelid surgery. In her Instagram update on December 8, the 39-year-old former Bachelorette revealed she underwent an "upper bleph," also known as blepharoplasty, PEOPLE reported.
One photo features Bristowe taking a selfie in bed, displaying her swollen, pink eyelids. Another snapshot captures her sitting in a medical facility, still wearing a blue hairnet. Additionally, a video depicts someone maneuvering Bristowe in a wheelchair. She humorously commented on this situation, referring to it as "embarrassing" while laughter filled the background.
Bristowe quoted Meryl Streep’s iconic line from "The Devil Wears Prada" in her post, stating, "Don’t be ridiculous Andrea, everyone wants to look like this." According to the Mayo Clinic, blepharoplasty involves surgery to eliminate excess skin from the eyelids. It addresses vision issues caused by sagging skin, especially in the peripheral visual field.
Bristowe also shared her recuperation experience alongside her two golden retrievers. On December 7, she posted a photo from a medical facility, where she was resting in a hospital gown with her eyes covered and seemingly monitored.
She mentioned that her dogs were also recovering. "A lot going on at the Bristowe residence. All three of us have stitches," she wrote. Her updates included details about her pets' procedures – Ramen had a fatty tumor removed, and Pinot had a tooth extraction.
Bristowe noted some lighthearted chaos in her home, sharing that her backyard was torn up and that her dogs would need leashes for outdoor trips, even late at night. "Good news. I saw a dog today. Have you ever seen one?" she humorously added.
Kaitlyn has been transparent about her cosmetic surgeries. In 2021, she responded to fans who noticed her changed appearance since "The Bachelorette" aired in 2015. She detailed her procedures, mentioning a brow lift, teeth bonding, lip fillers, and changes linked to aging and hair color.
In her remarks, she expressed frustration about women commenting on her looks. "So sick of women commenting on my face. Jesus," she concluded, voicing support for self-acceptance and the understanding of personal transformation.
