Kate Cassidy Addresses Relationship with Liam Payne Before His Death

Liam Payne's girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, addressed rumors about their relationship prior to his tragic death. She stated that there was no breakup before he died on October 16. The reason for her departure from Argentina was to tend to their dog, Nala.

In an interview with The Sun, published February 5, Kate described Liam's positive mindset when she left him in Argentina. "We were in such a great place, full of love; he was so happy," she emphasized. The abrupt end left her in disbelief. 

In the days leading up to Liam's passing, Kate traveled to Florida for their rescue dog, expressing, "I had a responsibility." She reflected on love's optimism, saying, "You hope everything will work out." Regrettably, she lamented, "If I could see into the future, I would never have left Argentina."

Kate mentioned that they had lived separate lives before; this was not their first time apart. Over three months after the incident, she continues to struggle with the loss. "It still doesn’t feel fully real for me that he’s not here," she expressed. "I think about Liam every second of every day."

On her Instagram Stories, she explained why she chose to share her story openly. Kate revealed feelings of numbness, stating, "Most days I feel broken." Through her posts, she communicated the weight of her grief, calling it "almost unbearable." "This is my first ever interview about Liam," she added, asking for compassion as she navigates her loss.

Authorities confirmed Liam's cause of death as multiple traumatic injuries with hemorrhaging. A toxicology report indicated that drugs were present in his system when he fell from the hotel balcony, prompting an investigation into the circumstances of his death.
