Kate Winslet's Fear of Cows: The Actress' Hilarious Revelation
Kate Winslet is celebrated for her brave roles in film. However, she admits to having a fear that might surprise many. During the January 17 episode of The Late Show, Winslet, 49, shared her feelings about what she considers the world's "scariest animal."
"I’m honestly not brilliant with cows," she told host Stephen Colbert. This statement elicited laughter from both Colbert and the audience. Winslet went on to share advice she received about understanding cows in a field. "Someone said to me, ‘Oh you’ve got to learn how to read a field of cows,’" she explained. She learned that if cows’ tails are swishing and flicking, they might become a threat. "They might charge you," she noted, recalling her astonishment at the danger they pose.
In her adventures, Winslet frequently hikes through fields populated by cows. She remarked humorously that she believes, "they are going to stampede me to the ground." Colbert asked if she had ever experienced such an event. Winslet recounted a time when cows had stalked her and her mother. "They were slowly Bo-Peeping it and then they did speed up," she detailed. Cautioning others, she mentioned that many stories exist about dangerous encounters with cows in England. Thus, she remains cautious around them.
Winslet expressed her wish to handle this fear better. "They’re not really scary, are they?" she questioned before reiterating her "legit fear" of cows. This lighthearted segment was part of Colbert's "The Colbert Questionert." This quiz features 15 humorous questions meant to engage his guests. Well-known celebrities like George Clooney and Meryl Streep have participated in the same fun segment.
Meanwhile, Winslet has been open about a famous moment from her career. During a "Happy Sad Confused" podcast episode hosted by Josh Horowitz on September 26, she recounted filming a particular scene with "Titanic" costar Leonardo DiCaprio. Winslet explained that the iconic door scene was filmed in "waist-height" water. "That was quite an awkward tank," she recalled humorously. She described the awkwardness of needing a bathroom break during filming, stating, "I’d literally have to fling my leg over and climb out the tank."
She went on to mention DiCaprio's dedication. The actor, now 49, kneeled continuously during his fateful scene, which has sparked much debate over the years.
