Katie Holmes received heartfelt love from her daughter, Suri Cruise, on her recent 46th birthday. The actress took to Instagram, resharing various birthday messages from loved ones on December 18. Among these well wishes, she highlighted a lovely gift from Suri, who is now 18.
Holmes expressed her gratitude in an Instagram Story featuring a beautiful bouquet of purple roses. She wrote, "I am so grateful for all of my blessings 💕 especially my daughter 🌷."
Suri is Holmes' only child with ex-husband Tom Cruise. The couple was married from 2006 to 2012. Recently, Suri was seen in New York City attending the Broadway revival of "Our Town," where she supported her mother. Currently, she is a freshman at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.
In an interview with "Town & Country," Holmes proudly discussed Suri's transition to college. "Of course, I will miss the close proximity, but I’m really proud of her and I’m happy," she stated. Holmes also shared her reflections: "I remember being her age; it’s an exciting time of beginnings."
Holmes' heartfelt message comes after she addressed rumors regarding Tom Cruise supposedly establishing a $1 million trust fund for Suri. She declared the rumors "completely false" in a December 8 Instagram post and asserted, "Enough."
Furthermore, in the comments, she expressed her concerns about her daughter's safety. "In today's world, I don’t want a target on my child’s back," she noted. Her protective instinct reflects her commitment to keeping Suri away from the public eye.
Holmes has often voiced about her strong relationship with Suri. In a July 2022 interview with *InStyle*, she shared her goal to nurture Suri's individuality. "My biggest goal has always been to nurture her into her individuality," she explained.
