Katie Holmes is firmly supporting her decision to protect her daughter, Suri, from false reports. The actress recently took to Instagram on December 8 to deny claims about Tom Cruise supposedly giving their daughter a million-dollar inheritance. Holmes stated, "Completely false. You can stop making stuff up," US Weekly reported.
Following her post, Holmes received various reactions. Many offered support, yet some critics questioned her concerns. One commenter wrote, "Gosh the hardships you guys face. Are you worried about rent AND food this month? No? Yea, me either 😅🙄 I wish these were my problems." In response, Holmes acknowledged the criticism but stressed the increased danger brought by public scrutiny. "But in the world today, I don’t want a target on my child’s back," she emphasized.
Katie Holmes began dating Tom Cruise in 2005, leading to their engagement that same year. Their daughter Suri was born in 2006. After a brief marriage, Holmes and Cruise separated in 2012. Over the years, Holmes has shared rare insights regarding her relationship with Cruise and her family.
