Kendrick Lamar made a notable statement with his accessory at the 2025 Super Bowl.

On Sunday, February 9, the 37-year-old rapper headlined the Halftime Show at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. The event featured the Kansas City Chiefs playing against the Philadelphia Eagles.

During the show, Lamar delivered his hit song "They’re Not Like Us," which recently won Record of the Year at the 2025 Grammy Awards. This song serves as a diss track directed at fellow rapper Drake. Lamar accuses the Canadian artist of being a pedophile and a "colonizer."

While Lamar altered one sharply worded lyric by omitting the last term from the phrase referencing Drake's 2021 album, he clearly sent a message with his outfit.

In addition to flare jeans, he wore a bold jacket with "Gloria" displayed prominently on the front. Lamar also sported a diamond Rahaminov brooch valued at $68,000 on his hat and flaunted a sizable "a" chain, among other jewels. The "a" necklace alludes to another lyric from "Not Like Us": "Trying to strike a chord and it's probably A minor."

In response to "They’re Not Like Us," released in May 2024, Drake filed a lawsuit against Universal Music Group. This is his own record label, which he has had since 2009.

Drake, 38 (whose full name is Aubrey Drake Graham), claimed in a filing dated January 15 that Universal approved and published a campaign that falsely portrays him as a pedophile while promoting violent retaliation against him.

According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, the complaint asserts that Universal Music Group has "repeatedly defamed Drake while 'exploiting' and 'monetizing' his work."

The lawsuit contends that "Not Like Us" intends "to convey the specific, unmistakable, and false factual allegation that Drake is a criminal pedophile" and suggests that listeners should pursue vigilante justice.

A spokesperson for Universal Music Group addressed the matter, stating, "Not only are these claims untrue, but the notion that we would seek to harm the reputation of any artist — especially Drake — is illogical. We have massively invested in his music, and our team worldwide has tirelessly worked in his interest for many years."

The representative added, "We do not engage in defamation against any individual. At the same time, we will vigorously defend this litigation to protect our team, our reputation, and any artist who may become a target of frivolous lawsuits for merely writing a song."

Earlier, SSP reported that Jelly Roll updates on health and fitness journey after 120-pound weight loss.
