Kim Kardashian Releases ‘Santa Baby’ Cover Produced by Travis Barker
Kim Kardashian is making waves again!
The reality star and Skims cofounder, aged 44, surprised her fans by releasing a cover of Eartha Kitt’s "Santa Baby" on Sunday, December 22. The timing is perfect for the holiday season.
Kim's cover features production by her brother-in-law, Travis Barker. He is married to Kourtney Kardashian, Kim’s older sister. The song became available through streaming services on Sunday via Barker’s DTA Records and Kim’s Kimsaprincess, Inc.
Additionally, Kim released a music video to accompany her rendition. The dystopian-themed clip showcases Kim crawling on all fours while wearing a blond wig. It features scattered money and a variety of characters celebrating an unconventional Christmas. The video concludes with a close-up of an unsettling Santa holding a video camera, later revealed to be Macaulay Culkin, the star of the classic holiday film, Home Alone. Kim shared this details on X, stating: "SANTA BABY, FILM DIRECTED BY NADIA LEE COHEN & CHARLIE DENIS, SONG PRODUCED BY TRAVIS BARKER," along with the eerie music video.
This festive cover arrives 13 years after Kim made her music debut with "Jam (Turn It Up)," produced by Grammy-winning producer The-Dream in 2011. She previously noted that she released the song to support charity and had no plans for a full-length album.
In an August 2014 appearance on "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen," Kim expressed her regrets about her music venture. She noted, "It’s definitely a memory and it was a fun experience. We gave the proceeds to a cancer organization. But if there’s one thing in life that I wish I hadn’t done … it’s dabbling into things I shouldn’t have. What gave me the right to think I could be a singer? I don’t have a good voice."
In addition to her return to music, Kim has made significant strides in Hollywood this year. She is filming a new legal drama, created by Ryan Murphy for Hulu. Titled "All’s Fair," it features a star-studded cast including Sarah Paulson, Niecy Nash, and Glenn Close, with a premiere set for 2025. Kim will also star and serve as a producer for a Netflix comedy titled "The Fifth Wheel."
"Its wonderful," remarked Paulson, praising Kim’s work ethic in an interview with *Variety* in November. "She’s incredibly present, fun, game, and alive in the moment. She’s great."
