Knicks Player Ogugua Anunoby Almost Crashes Into Anne Hathaway at a New York Knicks Game
Recently, Anne Hathaway and her son Jack had an unexpected moment while sitting courtside at a New York Knicks game. The event unfolded as the Knicks faced off against the Chicago Bulls at Madison Square Garden on November 13.
Hathaway, 42, looked stylish in chic sunglasses and a denim top adorned with a sparkly collar. Her elegant updo complemented her look as she sat next to her son, Jack, who was dressed in a Knicks jersey. Jack, born in November 2019, cheered on his hometown team, which unfortunately fell short against the Bulls, losing 124 to 123.
During the game, Knicks player Ogugua "OG" Anunoby accidentally lost control of the ball. In his chase to recover it, he leaped over a barrier and nearly collided with Hathaway. As he stumbled into her, her popcorn flew everywhere, leaving Jack visibly astonished. Anunoby, 27, simply smiled as he returned to the court, and Hathaway appeared unfazed and smiling too. Thankfully, both she and Jack emerged unharmed, as shown in online video footage.
A TV commentator humorously observed, "Anunoby’s scaring those along the sidelines," while noting Jack’s displeasure over the spilled popcorn. "He’s not happy about the popcorn being spilled, that’s for sure. There’s always more popcorn, young man." Further commenting on Jack, another host added, "The lil kid was mesmerized. He couldn’t move."
After the incident, Hathaway was seen comfortingly rubbing Jack’s back. This outing was a notable public appearance for the Oscar-winning actress and her son. Hathaway typically maintains a low profile, keeping her personal and professional lives distinct. She has been married to Adam Shulman since September 2012. Together, they share Jack and another son, Jonathan, who is 8.
In a March 2022 interview with WSJ. Magazine, Hathaway discussed how becoming a parent transformed her perspective, stating that she felt "fully landed and fully here." She explained, "It’s not like I was lacking integrity, but it made me want to be completely, on every level, true to my word." Hathaway added that parenting encouraged her to eliminate any personal incongruities in her life.
In July, Hathaway and Jonathan attended a Taylor Swift concert in Germany. They enjoyed the performance from the VIP area. During the event, Hathaway exchanged friendship bracelets with other concertgoers while Jonathan helped distribute bags of treats and bottles of water to fans gathered across the barricade.
